Splurge or save: Top 5 knee length boots for the season

I am not a big fan of ankle boots. I do have several options in my closet, but mostly I prefer my ankles be either completely visible or closed all the way up to the knees. And there is a lot of different styles in this category. Good quality black boots are one of the staples of the wardrobe. You can wear them with almost anything, depending on the occasion and your personal style preferences.

It's really interesting, that at the same time, I like and hate to have many choices. Sometimes I wish I had no choice but to follow my instincts, but I can't make any decisions without thorough research. And when it comes to shopping, I am rarely a compulsive buyer. Especially if I want something "big".

Here I post my list of wishes with very close, but less expensive alternatives. Sometimes it's hard to understand why something that looks the same costs so different. Same size, same material, and same exact design, but instead of several hundreds it's closer to a couple of thousands. Why? Well, when you see the outcome of any job or service, or pair of shoes, you're looking only at the end product, the result. And you do not see the backstage, where all the skills and efforts hide. We can't fully evaluate years of studying, exploring, trying and failing with efforts to make anything more sustainable. There is a whole competition out there! Of course, there is a lot we still can't accomplish, but right now people can do almost anything, if we're talking about things we really need in our lives. And it all comes down to one question: can we do it better? And I do hope, we're going in the right direction.
